Learning about families

I realized that I never shared anything about our social studies unit about families! In late fall and early winter we began talking and learning about families. We shared family photos, read about how families come in all different shapes and sizes, and made portraits of our families. We defined the word "family" as anyone who loves you, so many students chose to share about extended family and their pets. Here are some pictures of the kids drawing their families:
