Last Friday was both Valentine's Day and our 100th day of school! The 100th day celebration kind of got overshadowed by the excitement of Valentine's Day, but that's okay. We did a few fun activities to celebrate the great accomplishment of 100 days of kindergarten, including group mad-lib stories and 100 day hats. We also had a super fun Valentine's Day party, including treats, friendship bracelets, bingo, and card exchanges. Thanks to all the families who volunteered or provided treats for the class! Here are some pictures of the fun.

100th Day, goodbye to a friend, and Read Your Heart Out
Friday was a big day at school! It was the 100th day of school (which was rescheduled multiple times due to all our snow days!), Read Your Heart Out, and a goodbye party for one of our dear classmates. We also had an all-school assembly to celebrate Black History Month which I will post about soon. Thanks to all our guest readers who came for Read Your Heart Out on African American community involvement day. Below are some pictures of the fun!

100th Day & Valentine's Day
The way the school calendar is set up means that the 100th Day of School and Valentine's Day almost always fall in the same week. So this week we had two parties in the span of three days! It was a lot of fun. Thanks to all the families who were able to help by volunteering, providing treats, or sending in Valentine's. The kids had a great time. Here are some pictures!
First we made 100th day crowns.
Then did some writing with the prompt "I wish I had 100..." I loved seeing their answers! Everything from 100 dollars to 100 cats.

Then we made a 100 day trail mix with 100 items (10 of each food).
For Valentine's Day, we decorated our treat bags.
And then opened our Valentines!
We also had a Valentine's party that involved a candy hearts science experiment, making friendship bracelets for each other, playing Valentines-themed Bingo, and making a craft. Plus eating more treats! It was sugar-filled, love-filled day.

100th day of school & Valentine's Day... all in one week!
Believe it or not this week we celebrated the 100th day of school! We got to make a 100-item trail mix, make 100 Day crowns, do a 100 day puzzle, write about what we wish we could have 100 of, and draw all of our friends that we've been with since the first day of school. Here are some pictures!
Then the very next day we got to celebrate Valentine's Day! We made our own Valentine's Day bags, then shared our cards and candy with each other. We also wrote about what fills our hearts, and graphed candy hearts according to color. What a fun day!
