First week back

We had a great first week back from winter break! We wrapped up a few projects that were leftover from before, and celebrated the New Year by making some fireworks. We also welcomed a new student to our class, read a series of folk tales about Anansi the spider, and walked with our Forest Friday buddies to a nearby park. Below are some pictures. Welcome back!

Kindergarten picnic and Big Top performance

The second-to-last week brought two exciting events, our kindergarten celebration picnic and the all-school "Big Top" performance, where each grade level or class performs a song for the school. It's our last assembly of the year, and lots of fun to see what each grade has prepared. Our kindergarten classes performed the beloved "Baby Shark" song and did a great job! Thanks to all the families who came to the picnic to help us celebrate all the hard work that our kindergarteners did this year.

100th Day, goodbye to a friend, and Read Your Heart Out

Friday was a big day at school! It was the 100th day of school (which was rescheduled multiple times due to all our snow days!), Read Your Heart Out, and a goodbye party for one of our dear classmates. We also had an all-school assembly to celebrate Black History Month which I will post about soon. Thanks to all our guest readers who came for Read Your Heart Out on African American community involvement day. Below are some pictures of the fun!

Gingerbread week

We had a fun and full week before winter break, full of gingerbread books, crafts and stories! We also made gifts for our families, went to an all-school assembly, and had pajama day. It was a whirlwind week but the kids seemed to really enjoy it. Below are some photos of the projects, as well as other activities we've done in the past few weeks.
