Same, same but different

Last month we had a social studies unit called "Same but Different," where we learned all about ourselves and how we are both the same and different from everyone around us. We began with the book Same, Same but Different, which talks about two little boys from different parts of the world who notice things many things that they have common, and many ways they differ.


We then partnered up with someone in the class and found commonalities and differences between us. Below are some of the illustrations that represent what we found! 












Afterwards, we read lots of books on what makes us who we are, including how we all look different. We then used this information to make self portraits. Below are some pictures of the self-portrait making station in our room.
