Last week was St. Patrick's Day, as well as Spirit Week at our school, so there was lots going on! We celebrated the day by reading a book called
How to Catch a Leprechaun, which was perfect since we just finished our unit on writing how-to books. Then we took some advice from the book and decided to build our own traps! Below are some pictures of the kids decorating a leprechaun, and then building a trap. I can't help but mention that I locked those leprechauns in my drawer (even letting some kindergarteners try to open the drawer to prove that it was locked tight!), but when we came back from Forest Friday, the leprechauns had
escaped, and got caught in our traps!! We couldn't believe it! I swear I had nothing to do with it, since I was with the class in the forest the whole time. Must have been some kind of magic.
